so, the neck egg turns out to be some kind of cyst. i had a FNA (fine needle aspiration) and a CT scan on monday, and that’s what they determined from the results. stronger antibiotics are prescribed. apparently, this type of thing is something you’re born with and usually presents in your 20’s or 30’s. it could keep coming back, and if it does, the gland it’s on will have to be removed. but, whew! i’m glad it’s a cyst and not something worse.

it was pretty horrid. usually, when they do it to people who have actual tumors, it’s not very painful. but because this thing is crazy infected, it was torture. ok, not torture, but really painful and kinda gross feeling. and i was fretting the whole time about her stabbing an artery.
